§ 262.1. Acquisition of Existing Structures

The Town may acquire, by purchase, exchange, or condemnation an existing structure located in the 100-year floodplain or 500-year floodplain if the Town Council determines that the acquisition is necessary to prevent damage from flooding. The procedure in all condemnation proceedings pursuant to this section shall conform as nearly as possible to the procedure provided in G.S. § 40A, Article 3.
