§ 17-388. Penalty for late payment.

  • Each license tax prescribed by this article shall be increased five (5) percent for each month or fraction thereof during which such license tax remains unpaid after the tax becomes due and payable; provided, however, such penalty shall not be less than any minimum nor more than any maximum penalty established by state law. No license shall be issued until the license tax plus the penalty has been paid. The addition of the five (5) percent per month penalty on the amount of the license tax shall not exempt the delinquent from the penalties prescribed in this article for failure to obtain a license or any other applicable violation of the provisions of this Code, state law or town regulation, rule or ordinance.
