§ 20-157. Residential service rate, R-1.

  • (a)

    Applicability. This schedule is applicable to any customer who purchases alternating current electricity through one (1) meter for:

    (1)

    Single-family residential use;

    (2)

    Single-family residential-farm use;

    (3)

    Residential houses used as tourist homes, roominghouses, nurseries, kindergartens or dancing schools, provided such residential house is one which is ordinarily used as a private residence, has only one (1) cooking installation and has no more than ten (10) bedrooms.

    This schedule is not applicable to any commercial use, standby service or resale. In particular this schedule is not applicable to hotels, motels, trailer camps or any similar establishment. Service under this schedule is not available for separately metered farm operations or farm use other than incidental. "Incidental farm service" is that service used for the lighting of small farm buildings and the operation of miscellaneous motors of one (1) horsepower or less not used in the production of farm products.

    (b)

    Types of service. The type of electric service available on this schedule is sixty-cycle alternating current, single-phase, three-wire, 120/240 volts.

    (c)

    Rates. The schedule of rates applicable to this section shall be in an amount determined from time to time by the council and listed in the schedule of fees and charges maintained in the clerk's office.

    (1)

    The minimum charge shall be the basic customer charge.

    (2)

    Reserved.

    (d)

    Special terms and conditions.

    (1)

    The type electric water heater approved for service on this schedule is an insulated standard storage-type electric water heater equipped with a heating unit, each controlled by separate thermostats and so connected that the maximum connected load to be supplied will never exceed five thousand five hundred (5,500) watts per heater.

    (2)

    Individual motors having a rating of more than fifteen (15) horsepower will not be served on this schedule.

    (e)

    Meter reading. Meters may be read in units of ten (10) kwh and bills rendered accordingly.
