§ 20-212. Assessment—Generally.

Upon order or resolution of the town council pursuant to and in accordance with the provisions of G.S. section 160A-317 or upon the petition of not less than a majority of the property owners owning not less than a majority of the front footage of the property along which the proposed water and/or sewer mains are to be laid, the cost of such improvements shall be apportioned and assessed upon the lots and parcels of land abutting directly on the street or streets in which such sewer and/or water mains are constructed as provided in this division and as provided in G.S. section 160A-317.
