§ 3-9. Same—Notice; sale.

  • Whenever any animal shall be impounded, it shall be the duty of the impounding officer to, at once or as soon thereafter as practicable, notify the owner either in person or by mail, if the owner's name and address is known, at least three (3) days before selling or disposing of such animal. The animal shall be sold or disposed of on the day named in the notice within legal hours, unless the animal is redeemed prior thereto. Notice shall be deemed to have been delivered within three (3) days of contact of the owner in person or by mail. If the owner or the address of the owner is unknown, no mailing shall be required.
